Healing Hands
By Alice Eaton
JULIUSZ Wodzianski leads a double life. By day, he is a sharp-suited commercial property lawyer in the City, but come the evening, he casts aside the competitive world of business for a far more spiritual calling as a healer.
Juliusz began working as a healer about 15 years ago, taking a course in spiritual healing before starting up his own practice in London where he works in the evenings and weekends.
Becoming a healer is something Juliusz said chose him, having always had an interest in all things spiritual from an early age. He says the results of healing can be remarkable.
I go along to his house in Amersham to see for myself first hand.
Juliusz explains after my healing session: "I feel the energy that flows along the meridian system and find out what is going on in the body.
"I don't actually do anything other than have an awareness of the fact I am working with the energy and allowing it to work."
For my healing session, I lay on a couch while Juliusz placed his hands on my shoulders, arms, legs and stomach or let them hover a few inches above. At certain times his hands shook, a completely uncontrolled reaction, I am told, that is a result of the buzzing energy from my body.
Juliusz found a concentration of energy in my right arm, which, he said, could be where I was carrying a lot of stress, and another in my head no doubt caused by the stinking cold I was suffering from at the time.
Although I felt nothing throughout the session, afterwards I experienced cold shivers and a tingling sensation down my left side, which continued for some time the healing process can carry on for up to three days after a session. Despite my cold, I had nothing much the matter with me, but I did enjoy a restful state of relaxation during the healing process.
Juliusz's clients range from people who are simply looking for some form of relaxation to those with serious problems, such as cancer and food poisoning.
"I had a lady come in who had been suffering from back pain for years and had tried everything," says Juliusz.
"She came to the session in a lot of pain. She said she felt a gentle warmth down her back during the healing and since then has been completely free of back pain. She is going to go into healing herself.
"Sometimes, clients say one of my hands is hot and the other cold, sometimes they don't feel anything. I know people can be cynical about healing which is fine. If people want to come to me, they can I just do what I do, and I always have respect for others and their beliefs."
