The Spiritual Healer

Juliusz first began to discover he had a gift for healing 30 years ago during his student days. As well as training in law, he also worked as a hospital porter in the casualty department, where doctors would ask him to sit with traumatised patients while they waited to be treated. "I would often notice that people would start to feel much calmer about their illness when they were around me," says Juliusz.
However it took a whole series of bizarre coincidences, chance meetings and a personal search before Juliusz recognised that healing was his natural vocation.
"I'm quite a logical person," admits Juliusz. "So at the time it was extremely strange, and I'd spend time questioning my sanity."
But as soon as Juliusz enrolled on an introductory healing course shortly afterwards, everything seemed to come together. "It just seemed intuitively right." He smiles. "It felt like I was home."
When Juliusz gives healing, after an initial consultation, he will lay his hands on or above specific areas of the body, starting with the shoulders. "I feel totally connected with the person and what's going on for them," he explains. "The healing itself can just be a touch, but during a 20-minute's session I work with the energy of the whole body."
Juliusz frequently gets calls from satisfied clients delighted by the results of his healing. One lady
recently told him that her chronic back pain had stopped after listening to his relaxation CD.
Nevertheless, Juliusz doesn't take the credit for any of these positive outcomes. "For me," he says, "it's about people finding their own wellness. And the energy used in a healing session actually kick-starts the body's own healing. I don't own this energy. And I don't do anything astounding or secretive."
"People tell me things happen. They get better. And I do feel very pleased that somebody has been helped. But to me, it's just a great privilege to be able to work in that way."

"It made me feel very warm"
In August 2002, traffic police officer Paul Farrant, 47, from Kent, was fighting for his life during an operation to remove a tumour from his stomach. Unexpected complications arose and Paul lost 130 litres of blood. "They didn't expect him to make it," says infant teacher wife Jane, 46.
When Paul finally regained consciousness after spending three weeks in intensive care, Jane arranged for Juliusz to heal Paul at his hospital bedside.
"It made me feel very calm, warm and tingly inside," recalls Paul. After Juliusz's second treatment, Paul gained the energy to learn to walk again and work out on the exercise bike in the hospital gym.
Since then, Paul has astounded his doctors by his speedy recovery. Now in a desk role, he's back at work full-time and is training for his post-retirement career as a driving instructor. He cycles regularly and thinks nothing of lugging cement around the garden to build paths.
Jane feels that Juliusz's healing has complemented the medical treatment her husband received by giving him the strength to get his life back to normal.
"It was like a boost," she says. "Both psychologically and physically." Jane's own experience of healing was very dramatic. "It felt like a rollercoaster ride," she says. "Afterwards, however, I felt like the whole world's problems had been lifted from my shoulders. It was tremendous."

"She's back to being like my mum again"
Jane Swift, 40 and her mother Delia Doman, 63, first had spiritual healing from Juliusz at a wellbeing day organised by Jane's company in May.
Jane, a telecommunications programme director, had thrown herself into work after the recent deaths of her husband's parents and was very anxious about her mother's ill health.
Juliusz's healing helped Jane to relax deeply, face her grief and reevaluate her work-life balance. "Since the healing, I've found much more time for me, my husband and family. I feel a lot lighter emotionally and things have really slowed down."
Jane's mother Delia, a former school cook, had been battling with one chronic medical condition after another for years: thyroid problems, diabetes and high blood pressure. In February 2004, she was rushed to hospital with a life-threatening liver condition and soon afterwards, fractured her foot. After all this, Delia's usual high spirits had been dampened. "It felt as though I was on a downward spiral," she admits, "I'd got to the stage where I'd try anything."
After two sessions with Juliusz, she began to get a full night's sleep every night, and found the pain in her foot has decreased dramatically. "I feel much better overall, and am far more mobile now too. It's really given me the strength to carry on."
Jane's overwhelmed by the change in her mother. "She's gained a completely new lease of life. She's back to being like my mum again."

Healing Hands
By Alice Eaton
JULIUSZ leads a double life. By day, he is a sharp-suited commercial property lawyer in the City, but come the evening, he casts aside the competitive world of business for a far more spiritual calling as a healer.
Juliusz began working as a healer about 15 years ago, taking a course in spiritual healing before starting up his own practice in London where he works in the evenings and weekends.
Becoming a healer is something Juliusz said chose him, having always had an interest in all things spiritual from an early age. He says the results of healing can be remarkable.
I go along to his house in Amersham to see for myself first hand.
Juliusz explains after my healing session: "I feel the energy that flows along the meridian system and find out what is going on in the body.
"I don't actually do anything other than have an awareness of the fact I am working with the energy and allowing it to work."
For my healing session, I lay on a couch while Juliusz placed his hands on my shoulders, arms, legs and stomach or let them hover a few inches above. At certain times his hands shook, a completely uncontrolled reaction, I am told, that is a result of the buzzing energy from my body.
Juliusz found a concentration of energy in my right arm, which, he said, could be where I was carrying a lot of stress, and another in my head no doubt caused by the stinking cold I was suffering from at the time.
Although I felt nothing throughout the session, afterwards I experienced cold shivers and a tingling sensation down my left side, which continued for some time the healing process can carry on for up to three days after a session. Despite my cold, I had nothing much the matter with me, but I did enjoy a restful state of relaxation during the healing process.
Juliusz's clients range from people who are simply looking for some form of relaxation to those with serious problems, such as cancer and food poisoning.
"I had a lady come in who had been suffering from back pain for years and had tried everything," says Juliusz.
"She came to the session in a lot of pain. She said she felt a gentle warmth down her back during the healing and since then has been completely free of back pain. She is going to go into healing herself.
"Sometimes, clients say one of my hands is hot and the other cold, sometimes they don't feel anything. I know people can be cynical about healing which is fine. If people want to come to me, they can I just do what I do, and I always have respect for others and their beliefs."
